What is FTC?

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a student robotics competition run by FIRST, an organization dedicated to inspiring young people in STEM. Each season FIRST releases a brand-new game in September. Teams have a few short months to design, build, program, and iterate a robot that competes in qualifier tournaments, regional championships, state championships, and ultimately the FIRST World Championship.

Beyond the robot, FTC teams document their engineering process in a portfolio, present to judges, mentor other teams, and engage their community through outreach. The program builds collaboration, problem-solving, technical writing, and engineering skills students carry into college and careers.
